Just this past Wednesday, Billabong had it’s 6th Annual Design for Humanity event at the the Paramont Studio’s back lot which had a grip load of pro athletes inside and outside the surf industy, celebs, musicians, and 5,000 guest g raging on bands such as The Joy Formidable, The Lumineers, Walk the Moon and Imagine Dragons.
The event raised money for the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, an extension of the food company that raises funds to support sustainable agriculture, family farming, and culinary education.
Ofcourse the big draw of the night was the bikini fashion show, where the Billabong unveiled its spring 2013 collection.
Mandy Fry, senior design director for Billabong, said much of what they are coming out with has a lot of cultural influence.
“I was inspired by a lot of Guatemalan and Caribbean textiles, as well as a little bit of African and Spanish,” Fry said. “I’m loving all the mixing and matching of the patterns. There are super bright colors; we’re kind of done with the toned-down pastels right now.”
Congrats to Billabong for another successful year in the brands Annual Design for Humanity Event!
