The contemporary London art scene is extremely fluid, without any specific dominant school or group that could be readil pigeonholed or defined. The aim of the exhibition London Twelve is therefore neither to present the scene in its completeness, nor to chart its apex. Rather than that, the person behind the show´s concept, British curator Toby Clarke, has decided to focus on a subjective point of view and introduce
here a select group of artists whose output has captured hisattention over the last year. The exhibition thus brings together representatives of both the young up-and-coming generation of artists, and several older, already established names, whose works relate to the show´s keynote themes: namely, those of abstraction, identity, technology, history, and nature.
