Marissa Textor  | Graphite on paper | 46″ x 35.75″

Marissa Textor will be showing a new body of work alongside Ryan Travis Christian at Cooper Cole in Toronto on Friday April 27.
We are really excited about the new drawings!  Yes! Marissa’s artwork is done by hand with graphite on paper, they are not photographs (believe it or not)!
Both are truly amazing and talented artists and very kind people.  If you need anymore info on the show contact simjeetextor.com

American artists Ryan Travis Christian and Marissa Textor will be debuting a new series of graphite drawings this month at the gallery.
Ryan Travis Christian’s psychedelic drawings are the result of a combination of comic elements, vintage cartoon iconography, and humorous pop cultural references.  He has exhibited his art across the USA and overseas in countries like Denmark, The Netherlands, and The United Kingdom.

Marissa Textor creates photorealistic graphite drawings which depict imagery based on geographic and organic sources. Reconstructing familiar images with her flawless technique, Textor manages to evoke an ominous sense of curiosity and an enigmatic understanding of the environment.

The juxtaposition between both artists’ subject matter is a lot of fun.  Hopefully you will agree.  They even collaborated on a piece in the show. As Christian and Textor are still quite young and their work is very affordable, this is an opportune time to add a piece from either to your collection.
